January baby and a unicornuate uterus!

Alexis

My water broke this week and after a couple days and some steroid shots baby Indiana came 7 weeks early. Through my somewhat emergent C section due to baby being low and his heart rate dropping during long contractions the doctors discovered I have a unicornuate uterus. Meaning I only have half a uterus on my right side and a rudimentary horn on the left. And only one working Fallopian tube! The chances of conceiving and carrying this baby with little to no complications without being intensely watched were so minimal yet here we are. Despite his early arrival and the small environment he was given to grow in, God has given us a healthy 4 pound 5 ounce baby who has been exceeding all his premie/NICU expectations. He should be out of the NICU within the week after being born on 1/5/21. What a whirlwind it has been and to actually have answers to why he came so early and why it has taken us three years to conceive naturally! We are so blessed and so excited.
