Opinion on nexplanon or patch

So this is a different kind of post. I've been with my current boyfriend for a little over a year but before this relationship I was with my ex for 7 years. 3 of those 7 years we were TTC. My current boyfriend is a little younger than me(4yrs) and not ready. It's hard to go from trying to get pregnant to avoiding it. We've had a few "scares" and I've seen the fear in my boyfriend 😆 but I got so upset seeing negative. so that being said, I'm obviously not on birth control. I took it for years(pills) got off for a while and tried to get back on it and had lotttss of issues because if it. My body is super sensitive to the hormones on it. Tried to do an iud- the paragard and had issues with it staying in place and it had to be taken out. Only kept it for 3 months. So i know I can't do the pills and most likely can't do the shot and I don't wanna go through the IUD pain again. So should I try the nexplanon? Or maybe a patch? I'm 27 and my boyfriend is 23. Currently we're just using condoms or pull out. I just don't wanna take the chance of the BC causing fertility problems later. I know I shouldn't, but I already worry about my age because we definitely want kids, just not at this present time. Anyone been in a similar situation?
