Husband was exposed to COVID

Claire

My husband went to work on Thursday and was the only one in the office that day. His boss came in at 3pm and went straight to his own office, at 5pm his boss stood in my husband’s doorway and made some small talk for 5 minutes.

They normally wear masks but since my husband was the only one there that day, he didn’t have his on him and his boss for some reason didn’t put his on.

Yesterday (3 days after) he texts my husband saying he just tested positive for COVID and had very mild symptoms Saturday (2 days after their conversation) and has since made a quick recovery.

I’m a stay at home mom to our 2 year old so now, the 3 of us are quarantining for 14 days. Just sucks because besides work, we don’t go anywhere or see family.

My husband is going on day 4 today since his exposure to his boss and luckily feels perfectly fine still.

Because his contact wasn’t “prolonged” (15 minutes or longer) he doesn’t qualify for a rapid test from his doctor. I told him to lie 🙈 just for peace of mind but apparently the contact was still too soon to even register a positive if it was.

My husband is wearing a mask in the house when he comes into common areas but has been boarded up in his office and sleeping in there until we are in the clear.

Anyone else been in a similar situation? Do you think my husband had significant exposure? His boss was not coughing or showing any symptoms at all at the time.

I’m annoyed 😑 my grandfather died of covid in February last year so it’s something we take serious. Sucks that one stupid slip messed it up for us.
