Separation/Divorce (kids) question

I have a two yr old & 5 mo old and me & the kids dad are spearating, eventually divorcing. 3 weeks ago, we got into an argument & he punched me several times & i called the cops. He got 1 day in jail. I currently live with my dad with the kids until i can move out.

I wont be going to court, i just cant. Hes getting therapy & has anger issues. He has never hurt the kids, only me. How will him seeing the kids work. I agree with supervised visitation but he wants half the week. I personally dont think he can handle it. At least with our 5 mo old because he'd have to get up with her repeatedly & hes never watched them by himself for literally 24 hrs bc i was always there, a sahm.

Im just conflicted.
