Too late for help??

Question

My little guy is 6 weeks and breastfeeding has been such a challenge. It’ll be great, then one nipple is painful, then the other, then back to great, then both hurt. Right now both my nipples are tore up 😭. It’s so so painful. 
Is it too late to see a lactation consultant for help? Is he set in his ways? My goal is to breastfeed for a year but at this rate I want to give up and just pump, but I really want to make this work. Help!

Never too late! Call and get some help. Babies are super re-trainable and you could have an underlying issue going on, like thrush that baby keeps passing to you or something. Never feel like you can’t ask for help! Breastfeeding is a huge challenge and every baby is a little different. It takes a lot of support to get through the journey, especially those first few months.

Nope not too late, hire one ASAP! It shouldn’t hurt that much. My consultant Helped tons. Which resulted in Dentist and chiropractic visits. Totally worth it.
Remember it’s a journey. Invest in nipple shields for the time being. GL
