My mother is pushing me to formula feed

I just need to rant!

I’m a FTM with a one month old and I’ve been breastfeeding and pumping. It was a struggle at first to get started but after meeting with a lactation consultant a week after babe was born everything has been smooth sailing I would say.

Well ever since I gave birth my mom has made countless comments telling me to feed the baby formula. When my milk hadn’t came in yet she was pushing me to just throw in the towel and feed the baby formula. Now if I talk about how I am tired from night feedings she tells me it would be easier if I used formula and I should just switch, and “he’s already had the good stuff anyways”.

Then if I’m on the phone with her & if the baby is fussy she always says things like “wow he sounds like he’s hungry” or other comments eluding to him not eating enough.

Has anyone dealt with this sort of thing from their own mother? Obviously there is nothing wrong with formula feeding, I am so upset over her lack of support in my decisions. Either way I choose to feed my baby all she should be concerned about is that my baby is fed! UGH!
