Has anyone’s kid been diagnosed with SPD?

My child is still an extremely picky eater and I’m starting to worry about a food-related Sensory Processing Disorder. How did your kid get diagnosed? Has the treatment helped with the picky eating? Im going to speak to the pediatrician at our next appointment, but I’m just curious to know if anyone else has dealt with this before. Thank you!

My son was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder when he was 9 months old. 
Extremely extremely early for this type of diagnosis and it was not only due to feeding issues. Immediately upon having my son he was sensitive to touches on his arms and developed around 3 months scratching his head (in a harmful way) as a mechanism of self soothing. 
There were many other signs as well. I don’t want to list them all. Extreme fear of metallic looking objects and textures many things (important to note it’s not due to lack of exposure). We started OT around 10 months and it was life changing for our family. 
I would advise you to bring it up with your pediatrician and maybe petition for some OT for feeding issues but I wouldn’t assume you have a sensory issue until an expert can help nail that down. Hugs 💕

Picky eating on its own isn’t indicative of SPD.  SPD involves a whole slew of seeking or avoiding behaviors.  Kids are cautious about new things, our ancestors survived by being careful with what they tried eating.  Keep offering known comfort foods along with the new foods.

What does your son eat? Or what doesn’t he eat?  Also what other symptoms is he having( 
Only reason I ask is bc my daughter was said to possibly have a speech delay and also , hates hates hates having her teeth brushed , and will not eat mushy stuff.  They speculated that it could be bc her speech delay?
