Is it legal?

Is it legal to move my stuff out of my apartment 30 days before the lease is up as long as I pay everything?  I found a place and dont want to give it up because of 30 days. I have to give my landlord 30 days notice but is it like illegal to not be fully living in it?

You don’t have to live in it as long as you continue paying til the agreed end date. I moved out of my last apartment 2 months early

As long as you are paid up it's legal. It's when you move and don't pay before the lease is up that makes it illegal.

Nothing illegal about it. I moved out of my apartment with 6 months left to go on my lease but still paid until my lease was up. My apartment was a shit hole and pending case with the health department on them. My boyfriend let me move in with him but didn’t want to break my lease. Moved all my shit out then gave my 30 days notice that I wasn’t resigning.
