Government assistance
What kind of support do you get from your government when you have a child?
I learned recently in my country (NZ) that during the first 3 years of child's life you receive $60 a week + weekly tax credit (depending on your income as there are four types) that goes on until the child is 18. You get it regardless of your social or financial circumstances.
So I know someone who receives around $130 weekly per child to support with their needs, and she decided that she is going to create like a savings account for her child and save it for them which is super cool as they can use it for uni or to buy their first car or travel when they grow up.
So i was wondering what are the options in your country?
