Herpes or nothing?

Hi ladies! I have a few questions and I have no idea who to turn to. In late August I started dating this girl (I’m a girl too if that matters at all) and we slept together a few times between then and late September. While we were dating her ex texted her saying she had tested positive for herpes. They dated and had sexual relations from May-July. Her ex did have a few other partners after my now current partner, so she’s not sure when she contracted them. Neither of us have had any symptoms but I am still so worried about not knowing. I know a blood test can be performed, but if it’s performed without ever having an outbreak youre more likely to have a false positive. I’m also not sure how I would get tested as I’m still on my parents insurance and really don’t want to have that talk with them unless absolutely necessary. ANY advice is appreciated, and I would love to talk to anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.
