I don’t know why, but I’m really questioning my entire life tonight lol. My mom always told me that my husband will respect me so much more if I’m a virgin when we get married, but like...that’s bullshit to me. Why does my body count affect your love for me? Why does the absence of virginity make me less respectable? (It doesn’t).
I’m still a virgin now (at 16), and I have no intention of losing it soon, but I just want to lose it to someone who loves me even if we don’t end up married. Thoughts?

If a man doesn’t respect you just as much as he would if you were a virgin then he is not worth having. This isn’t the 1950’s, people don’t think like that anymore. Your worth is not placed on the presence of your virginity.

I’m not married and have had sex. I don’t regret it. I lost it to someone who loves and cares about it, and that’s all I care about. I just didn’t want to lose it to someone who doesn’t respect or appreciate me. I don’t think your future SO will care, they should love you for you, so they should not care. And if they do, then they don’t deserve you because they’re a douchebag.

Im 21 and still haven’t lost it. Not that I haven’t had the opportunity, it just didn’t feel right. I am not waiting for marriage, just waiting for the right time when I know there is full respect and expectations on both sides. But there is nothing wrong with waiting, whether it is for marriage or just the right person.

I lost mine when i was 16. Only reason i wish i waited longer was because i didnt really know what love was and i got into shitty relationships and gave myself to douche bags who didnt deserve me. I technically waited until marriage, but I’m not with that guy anymore. It was a stupid choice I made at 18. 😂 So I can’t really say wait till marriage, but I seriously regret everything that had to do with him, and it grosses me out that I ever did anything sexual with him. I really wish that I could take it back. So I do wish I’d waited longer. I wish that my fiancé was the only person I’d been with. I just wish that he was the only one I had those memories with. I always said I was going to wait till marriage. I made it to 18 and low and behold my first boyfriend and I were dropping pants 😂😂 but I waited for a long time and feel he is the one. I feel like as long as you intend on marrying someone then ya know 🤷‍♀️ it’s fine.
