Has anyone used a baby nurse?

Have any of you ladies used a baby nurse (CNA) for overnight support or for 24 hour support? I am considering this for our first child (due in August) and am curious as to what the experience was like for anyone that tried this!

Also, do you guys recommending help for the first 4 weeks or first 6? As context, my husband and I don’t really have support from anyone else.

My opinion. It’s all apart of parenting. Why have someone else come in and take care of your baby when you/ hubby should be the one doing it. If you’re going to be breastfeeding you have to be up when baby is anyway to feed. So in actuality it’s not necessary.

If you can afford it then go for it. I don’t judge women who ask for help. I personally prefer to do it all myself, but there is no shame in having help AT ALL. I would do the first six weeks of i chose to do that. I think it will help you get a lot more sleep, and help you and baby get into a good routine. Also babies sleep should be a little bit better by 6 weeks so that will help too. Parenting can be absolutely exhausting. I have a sleep disorder and i get up with my son by myself all night and I’m 23 weeks pregnant. If had someone who could help me right now at night, i would def do it lol

So my insurance offers this and I did think about it at first to get some “more sleep” but honestly I’m BF so I had to get up regardless. Either to pump or feed, so we decided against it. It was just easier for me to get up. But if you plan to formula feed and you can afford it, it might be worth it to get a few extra hours of sleep. Remember that yes you’re bringing in a tiny human into the world who needs you BUT you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of your baby. Its hard to remember that at times. And a couple hours of sleep is a huge game changer. Goodluck!

If you can afford a CNA by all means but is there a medical necessity for your child? They usually look after a child requiring special needs, otherwise perhaps hire a nanny or have a part-time baby sitter?
