Amount of breastmilk per bottle?

My little one is still only drinking 2-2.5 ounces of breastmilk from the breast and from a bottle. Shouldn’t she be drinking more than that? She eats every 2.5-3 hours. I have tried to get her to drink more but she won’t, and then she is up all night eating too.

Every baby is different, mine will only drink 3oz or less if from a bottle. My first baby never took more than 4oz from age 4 months til age 1 when we dropped bottles. Your milk does change to meet baby’s needs you don’t necessarily have to increase the oz in breastmilk bottles like you do with formula bottles. I would just offer more like you’ve done but if baby doesn’t want it, don’t stress!

My LO drinks 3.5-4oz of breast milk from a bottle every 3 hours during the day, and then we shoot for 1 5 hour stretch at night. When she wakes up from the 5 hour stretch, she’ll drink 5-6 oz sometimes. I exclusively pump, so she’s not on the breast (even though she had a great latch, it just didn’t work out for us).
Not sure how you’re measuring what you’re getting out of breastfeeding.

This is completely normal. Breastfed babies usually don’t drink more than 3oz from a bottle at a time.

As long as there is no decline in weight i wouldn’t with about it. Babies know what they can handle and your supply will act accordingly. Keep up the great work!
