New mom and new to cloth diapers

I am so lost when it comes to cloth diapers. I don’t even know where to start. I’m due with my first baby (boy) in April. Can any moms give me any advice? Which is best? What brand is the best? Do you need a different size for newborns if so which brand? How much would I need? And how do you use them? Do you wash just the pad or wash the entire diaper everytime it’s dirty meaning if my baby pooped do I need to change the pad or the entire diaper? I’m so sorry I feel so lost.
