Anyone have a sub chorionic hematoma?

Has anyone had a sub chorionic hematoma? I had one about a week and a half ago. Ultrasound that day showed baby was fine. I also had another ultrasound a week ago and baby was still ok. I’m still having a teeny bit of spotting 2-3 times a day when I go to the bathroom and wipe. I’m 8 weeks 4 days. Also having a lot of pressure and cramping is this all normal? I’m feeling so anxious I have another ultrasound booked for a week from today but that feels so far away. 😢

I had them in two IVF pregnancies, one worse than the other. Its a sac of blood next to the baby, basically. In this case, having a but of bleeding is usually the subchorionic hematoma draining which is a good thing!! I know its the most disconcerting thing ever, and I got worried every time too. As long as its spotting or bit by bit here and there and doesn’t pick up to becoming a full on bleed that is bright red and saturates a pad, then keep reminding yourself that its the hematoma healing. It took about one week for my first to resolve and nearly three weeks for my other pregnancy to stop the random bleeds and have the subchorionic hematoma heal. But both did resolve and didn’t actually threaten the pregnancies.
Its totally easier said than done, but try not to get upset over spotting and minor bleeds. Try to remind yourself that its part of the healing process for a subchorionic hematoma. Wishing you and your baby well, this phase will be over soon (luckily subchorionic hematomas don’t last long)!

Cramping is normal, it is your uterus stretching to make room for the baby as it grows. The bleeding should put you at any risk for a miscarriage. It is rare it cause a miscarriage.

They’re fairly common in IVF patients. I had one around 7 weeks, but it healed up within a week. No problems since :)
