Waking up hysterical. Sleep regression?!
My 20m old son has been going through a sleep regression. Fighting sleep, short naps, skipping naps, you name it. I’ve kind of just resigned myself to the fact he’s only going to sleep 45 min max during the day now. It’s been about 4 weeks of this but the thing that’s new and I can’t figure out is his waking up HYSTERICAL from his nap and in the morning now. Like he jumps straight up from being fast asleep, throws his lovey out of the crib and screams hysterically ...Everytime he wakes up. He used to wake up and play nicely in his crib until we would get him but he loses his mind now - the second he wakes up. He’s also waking super early in the morning (about an hour or so earlier than normal) and of course barely napping. Could this be part of the regression or something else? It’s been a couple of weeks of this and we’ve tried everything. Putting lovey back in and soothing him...sitting with him, but nothing is helping. The morning wake ups are awful and it takes me an hour to calm him down after all the hysterical crying. Any thoughts? Thanks!
