Brown period

This is my third day of what is meant to be my period. I am on the pill, on my break the first day I had the worst possible cramps and my bleeding was heavy, on the second day it was much lighter in flow and there was a big bit of what must have been my lining. This is now my third day I have some cramping but the flow is very light from what I have woken up to. This whole time the blood has been thick and brown

When having sex I also always use condoms and the pull out method, is this normal?
