Does anyone sleep in a different room than their significant other? How do you deal with their snoring?

Mucha

My husband snores all night, every night. I’ve tried so many different sleep meds to try to sleep through it. Nothing keeps me asleep during it. He has a sleep apnea machine that he occasionally uses. When he does, it works. But even when he uses it, he will just take it off in the middle of the night.

Does anyone sleep in a different space to keep from smothering their other half in their sleep? I don’t even know where I would sleep. The couch is shit, it’s just as bad as the snoring. The other bedrooms are taken. There’s nowhere else to sleep but maybe the kitchen... but then the dogs get excited thinking I’m in there to feed them. Sometimes I fantasize about moving out just so I can f*cking sleep.

I’m absolutely useless during the day.

Every time I start to fall asleep he will snort or make some terrible noise that jars me awake. Sometimes I feel furious and think about taking a really good swing at him with a pillow. I can’t take this anymore. And let’s be honest, taking a prescription pill concoction every night isn’t good for my health either.

I’ve talked to him so many times about this. He says he’s sorry, and he will start using the mask. Then he doesn’t. The sound of someone snoring is one of the worst sounds in the world. Really trying to keep my cool right now. He obviously doesn’t give AF about me needing to sleep.

Edit: thank you everyone for being so understanding and helpful.
