Thoughts on announcing to social media?

Hi everyone, what are your thoughts on announcing your pregnancy to social media? It's a weird time we live in when you have to think about that, at first I didn't want to because i felt it wasn't the world's business but we got worried family members would let it slip before we got the chance to tell everyone so we did one. Did you do a pregnancy announcement or are you not a fan of letting everyone into your life? Lol

Good way to let everyone know without having to tell each and every individual person. I personally find that exhausting. Best for them to see a post and then everyone knows at once

I did it with my first and will do it again. Mainly for my old coworkers and my extended family but I really don’t care if the randos from high school and college know.

I don’t have any social media... not a fan. But I still make an announcement picture for all my pregnancies and just text it to individual family and friends.

Everyone is different. I try to keep most of my information off of social media. I have no plans of an announcement but know plenty of people who do but usually after the first trimester or halfway through. It’s personal preference!

We announced on social media in our last pregnancy which sadly ended at 22 weeks and had to tell everyone that we lost the baby. This pregnancy we don’t plan on even telling close family till we are closer to our due date :/ but loss really changes your perspective and adds more worries. You do what you feel is right :)

I’ve struggled with this. I personally don’t really care to post on social media because I don’t really talk to any of the people on my social media in real life on a daily or even weekly basis, but I know my husband wants to and it is a good way to just let everyone know all at once. So for the sake of making it known, we’ll do it. But I don’t really care to post progress or updates... I don’t need to and if people are curious about how you or the baby are doing, they’ll reach out, if not, it’s better to not get a false sense of who is going to be there for you once the baby comes. There’s no wrong way to share or not share info about your family— it’s YOUR family! Just have fun and do what feels right.

We did with our first 2 but with this one we aren't announcing on social media. We just wanted to keep this one between close friends and family. Sally from 2nd grade probably doesn't care anyway. That's just how we felt anyway but I do love seeing my friends announce their pregnancies.

We did. But we have a lot of friends and family across the country. Some international. So, social media is really the only/easiest way we keep tabs with some people we care about. 
Our first we announced at the start of football season bc we’re big football fans - from opposing teams. I overruled dad and got onesies for MY team for the baby (didn’t know she was a girl yet) and we both wore our opposing jerseys. 
Second we announced on Thanksgiving by having my (then, 1 1/2 year old) answer “where’s the baby?” And she pointed to my belly in a little video. 
I’m making them both shirts, one that says “really big sister” and “little brother” with “little” crossed out and “big” over the top for my son (he’s only 8 months old 😳😅) and a onesie with “surprise! Baby #3 August 2021” and another that says “I’m the last one (seriously!)” idk how I’m going to set up a photo of my little monsters but it’ll be fun :)

I always say there is no right or wrong way to announce but did post on social media after telling close friends and family first.  Share your news however you like/feel comfortable doing so

I’m completely okay sharing on social media because we have lots of family that are far away from us.
