Not announcing on social media

Has anyone decided to not announce on social media about your pregnancy? I told a friend I was pregnant and I had told her I wasn’t really announcing it or sharing it with people I didn’t need to. She said I was being “shady” and found it weird. I just said with this pregnancy, (my second), I didn’t think I needed to share it to the world. I’m not ashamed, but maybe just felt like this one could be more private. Is that weird?
