Best Breville electric tea kettle

I was gifted the $80 one for my wedding and it did not last me too long. It lasted about a year before I started making noises. It also started to get like white residue inside that was bumpy texture. I see they have other tea kettles which one is the best?

According to consumer reports this is the best Breville kettle, but supposedly they recommend other brands over this one, such as the Oxo glass kettle or the Cuisinart perfect temp. I have a Breville that seems to no longer be available (Breville Ikon cordless) which I bought over 3 years ago and it’s still in perfect condition. If you have white buildup on the bottom of yours try putting vinegar in it and let it sit for about an hour then scrub it off. That’s common if you have hard water and will most likely happen with any kettle you buy. I’m a fan of Breville products so I’d probably buy the one I posted above if/when mine dies.
