Weight gain shaming 🙄
In the Drs office to get the results of my 20 week scan, which I was just told was exceptionally average.
Doc: have you REALLY gained 20 lbs already?
Me: yes.
Doc: really? How much did you gain with your first?
Me: 50, maybe 55 lbs? I’m not worried about it.
Doc: oh I’m not either...can you tell me about your diet? How much exercise are you getting?
Me, in my head: yet another reason why I’m transferring to a fucking home birth midwife
Not that is matters, but for reference I’m 5’9 and currently 140. Last pregnancy I walked 2-4 miles a day for most of my pregnancy and was on a GD diet, and delivered my peanut at 39 weeks and 175lbs.
I mean it when I say I’m not worried about the gain, I’m just annoyed that they treat people this way. Like we don’t have enough to be worried about as pregnant women 🙄
