Do you count spotting as your first day of period?

I started spotting this morning but I’ve changed my tampon twice and there’s barely been anything on it. Should I wait and count a heavier flow day as the first day of my cycle?

When I started IVF my doctor told me that the first day of my period was when I filled a pad(full flow)

It depends what time of day. Like if I spotted in the afternoon I counted the next day as my 1st day.

I usually spot for 4-5 days before my period so I wait for actual flow or my cycle would be soooo long lol
