But basically, the research was among 12793 kids 3-5 years old and it was proven that exclusive BF till 6 months (and not till 4 or 5 months old) old reduces the risks drastically of a child having ADHD as a preschooler .

Every extra month of BF lowers the risk by 8%.

Surely, there is a disclaimer, that it’s not 100% that breastfeeding will secure your child from ADHD, but in many cases it will lower the chances.

Just to say, I’m not trying to shame anyone or to change their opinion. But merely putting information out.

I myself had to switch to formula after my first son was 3 months old. I was sore years after that I “gave up” but found peace eventually. Though I still suspect he has some sort of ADHD but it was never too severe to be diagnosed, but it was suspected.

I did a lot of research and was more mature for my second daughter with more information and support around. I really promised to do anything to Breastfeed her and every day was a victory.

I’m still breastfeeding her who is 23 months old now and has a completely opposite character than my son.

So, I was on both sides of the spectrum and that’s why this article sounded interesting to me.
