Cord blood? Anyone preserving theirs?

If so, why or why not? I’ve read stuff on the internet, but would like some other people’s opinions/insight.

We decided against it due to cost v actual chance of needing and using- keeping in mind many of the treatments that they may be able to use cord blood for are experimental/alternative and not covered by medical insurances. It could change in the future to be more widely used, procedures covered by insurance if needed- but seemed like that was many years off in our research

I wish but it’s way too expensive. I also think they likelihood of use vs cost doesn’t add up for us. We have decided to delay cord clamp, which isn’t the same but our ob agreed.

We decided to do it. Yes the initial cost is high, but there is a promotion going on at CyroCell International so we were able to lock the price for cord blood and tissue at $1400. Then the yearly storage is $350. Cord blood is, I believe, half that price. Honestly I pay more for my car insurance than we will be paying for the storage. 
We decided to bank it, Bc you never know. Even that we did all the genetic testing to see if there are any genetic mutations in my husband and myself that could potentially be transferred to the baby and there is no major issues. Also, the cells can be used for myself or my husband if needed (if there is a match, of course). Yes, there are public banks that you can search for cord blood, if needed, but you don’t know if you ever will find a match and the purchase price is way higher than what you will pay for the privet storage.  
I guess it’s a personal decision. If you can afford it, why not. But it’s understandable that this is a high price for something that you just don’t know if you’ll ever use.
