PCOS and birth control?

Today at my annual appointment I got diagnosed with PCOS due to cysts on my ovaries and other symptoms. Me and my husband want to try for #2 in the summer (and hopefully have a spring baby🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️). We conceived our first through letrozole on the first round but at that time I hadn’t been diagnosed with PCOS. Now, my doctor is recommending I go back on birth control for a few months to give my ovaries some time to rest and heal and then start the letrozole. Has anyone done this successfully? Pros/cons?

I haven’t been on birth control in four or five years but at this point idk what it can hurt 🤷🏼‍♀️ we aren’t super dying for a baby right at this moment, but want to start trying because we know it could take a while again (1st took 2 years)
