I got checked today and I’m at a 0, but she really tried to get a finger in my cervix and couldn’t. Is it normal to have some blood after being checked like that or could it be the start of my mucus plug? I’m not a first time mom, but this is different.

Some spotting is normal after a cervical check. The cervix doesn't like to be messed with during pregnancy.  If you have heavy bleeding, then definitely not normal

Agree with other posts this is due to irritation of your cervix. I’d avoid cervical exams until your in labour - even then they disrupt the flow of labour and can slow it so think carefully before agreeing to them. Also it can introduce infections.
Labour will start when your baby’s lungs are developed enough for them to breathe outside of the uterus. I know the end of pregnancy can be hard but don’t try and force it. Keep active and healthy. 
Also you will notice your plug, it’s like a lump of jelly and there will be quite a lot of it
