Toddlers anyone???

Question

I have a 2 year old and mannnnnn!! She doesn't understand that I'm pregnant and she constantly jumps on my belly and stands on me. How can I stop this or try to redirect her behavior?? She really hurts me sometimes. It doesn't help that she's spoiled(she really is and I admit it). She's literally glued to me. I had no idea I would be pregnant this soon after her(1st 2 are 7 years apart) so I definitely coddled her a lot but now I need her to be a little independent and it's hard. Help!!!

I just explain to my 2 year old that the baby is in there and she has to be careful. She has her moments and if she’s mad she obviously isn’t careful but she knows now. Just keep repeating yourself and explaining baby is in your belly and that you don’t want her to hurt the baby. Mine will give him hugs and kisses

Lol I understand completely! I have a 17,16,15,11 and 16 month old and she is rotten to the core and now pregnant with #6 and I am thinking omg she will have a rude awakening when this one gets here! She has never been away from me more then 5 hours and is very much a mommy girl! Best of luck to you

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. My 2 year old fully understands there is a baby in there. I find it helpful to practice holding a baby doll with them, pretend feedings and diapering. And all the while remind them the baby is growing In your belly. 
My 2 year old is also very attached. I exclusively breastfed her and coslept with her. She is mommy everything. She is ok with the idea of a baby now but I can see it being problematic once baby arrives.

My son is 3 and he does this to and I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant. I don’t know what they are so attracted to our belly’s! But reading these comments makes me feel better in that I’m not alone.

Yep, my 2 year old is ruthless. She has to lay on me all the time 😩. Luckily my 3yo understands that there’s a baby in my belly and is actually super helpful and excited.

We’re dealing with the same thing right now. Our toddler is 2. She gets so rowdy and wants to jump on our bed, run around, and just be crazy! She doesn’t really understand I’ve got a baby in my belly but I firmly tell her to stop and tell her we have to be careful with the baby. It makes me so scared she will be rough with her baby sister when she’s born.

I'm 23+4 and have a 2 year old who does exactly the same thing! He's very active and jumps all over and wants to sit on me all the time haha! The best thing I've done is just a firm 'Stop. That hurts mummy.' doesn't always work but mostly! If he gets upset I just explain we don't want to hurt mummy because there's a baby in there etc and let's play with something else. And all the research I've done says baby should be cushioned and safe enough, but it's not comfortable!

My youngest is almost 3 so he sort of gets what’s going on. I tell him that he’s hurting baby sister when he kicks or jumps on my belly. He’ll usually ask why and I’ll explain it to him. Then we practice being gentle to my belly. It helps sometimes 😂
