Metronidazole

Has anyone ever taken metronidazole for BV in the first trimester?! Was baby okay? I got the antibiotic pills prescribed today and I've already taken 1, then I looked at the package where it says talk to your doctor if under 12 weeks gestation!! I'm only 8 weeks... My primary care doctor gave them to me not my OB because he isn't back in office until Monday.. and I explained I'm only 8 weeks.. she said it was fine
