I have an appointment thursday, i scheduled a pap smear but i also wanted to be tested as well, is that included with a pap smear?? can i request that being done during my pap smear?? or will i have to make a separate appointment??

You don't have to make a separate appointment you can get tested during a pap smear it's basically the same thing you would get if you were to take a routine checkup except they take a few cells from your cervix to test for cancer

Also wanted to be tested for what? Pregnancy? They usually do that when you come in. The Pap tests for anything abnormal, or any kind of disease you may have typically.

No they did my full test when they did my Pap smear. I just asked them to test me for everything

You have to request sti testing but yes you can do some tests during your pap smear. Some tests require a blood draw which may be done at your appt but often has to be done separately because usually they have someone else do the blood draw. When you schedule your appt, tell them you want std testing or if you already have scheduled it, you can call the office to see about adding it or bring it up at the beginning of your appt. During your pap/womens wellness exam, they will ask you questions, do a breast cancer screening, they will take a speculum to open your vagina and take a swab. That one is a little uncomfortable. They will also feel around your sexual organs to check for abnormalities. If you have a good doctor, it will be uncomfortable but shouldn't be painful. Stay calm, don't overthink it. If you feel any pain or excessive discomfort, speak up. If you need to take a moment or anything, communicate with your doctor what you're feeling. Before they start the exam, ask them to talk you through what they are going to do and that you're nervous.
