My sweet baby boy, home birth, 11/29

👼👧👶

I've been so busy adjusting to a new baby along with my toddler. But anyways, on 11/28/2020 I was 39 and 2. I noticed losing my mucous plug that morning and called my midwife. "Oh yay, we'll have a baby in a few days," I laughed and said "yeah, sure," because when I lost it with my 1st I was in labor by nightfall. So, I yoga-balled it up.

By nightfall I was having contractions about 7-10 minutes apart. Around 1130pm I texted my midwife and she said "Okay, we'll see a baby in a few days!" I laughed again, took a 30 minute nap, and woke up in raging labor! So I started tracking my contractions, got my house ready, and took a hot shower. Laid back down trying to relax between contractions and had my husband pull my leg every time, because for some reason it felt better. Got another shower, went downstairs and turned on labor meditation videos. I took turns laying on the couch deep breathing and rolling through contractions on my yoga ball. Somehow it became 630am and my husband came downstairs and demanded I call the midwife. So I called her and my aunt and they both headed over. I got 1 more hot shower and my aunt arrived. It was at the point, 715am, that the contractions were almost intolerable, but not quite. At 730am midwife arrived and I told her if I was 2cm I'd be kicking her out and headed to the hospital, but I was 9cm!!! I couldn't believe it. We all went up stairs to my bed, no time for the pool! Next thing I know I'm 10cm, she breaks my water, I'm pushing, and at 8:50am my beautiful baby boy came Earthside at 6 pounds 10 ounces and 19.75 inches. 💙

It was such an amazing and redeeming experience after being poorly treated at the hospital with my first.

Here he is at 2 months 🤱🥰
