Elective inducing

Kayla

My first son I went into labor a few days after I hit 39 weeks with no strep B. This time I tested positive for strep B early in the pregnancy and was told by my OB they wouldn’t test me again at 35 weeks and would just treat me during delivery. However, I’m allergic to the meds they usually dose you with in delivery so they can get 2 doses in with a short period of time to reduce risks to baby so my doses will have to be spaced out a little more. I asked her if it’s possible to induce at 39 weeks so they can get the iv antibiotics in me a little before starting the inducing meds to make sure I get enough doses in me where we won’t have to worry much about him after delivery. I didn’t have a long delivery with my first at all and she said typically the second baby tends to go faster. Anyone else allergic to the meds ? Anyone else ask to be induced because of such issue? I know strep B is common but with needing a different med I’m worried I won’t get the doses in I should 😭
