Water broke?

36 1/2 weeks pregnant. Last night around 1 am I woke up with soaking wet underpants. No odor, colorless... changed them. Called my midwife this morning and she wasn’t concerned and said I probably peed myself. It definitely wasn’t urine. But I haven’t had any leaks since. Today I’ve had non stop period like cramps but no consistent contractions and no blood or mucus plug. I’m also extremely achy everywhere. With my first two girls my water broke and there was no mistaking it but this is just strange. Has this happened to anyone else?

I wouldn’t listen to your midwife and go and get it confirmed at the hospital. If it is your waters and it’s left, it can cause a serious infection for you and baby x

With my daughter my water started leaking a LITTLE bit. I went to get out of bed and I felt the smallest gush, and I knew I didn't pee myself. I wanted a couple hours and it kinda happened again so I decided that we needed to go in to see just to be safe. They did some kinda swab thing to test the fluid to see if it was my water and it was. There was a little tear in it and it either folded in on itself or she was sitting just right so she was blocking it from fully breaking/leaking more. After thay they admitted me and I had her 10 hours later. I'd go in just to make sure, it doesn't hurt.

If there’s been zero leakage since then it’s unlikely it’s your water breaking BUT it still could be. I’m shocked she didn’t want you to at least get swabbed because it can be very dangerous if the water breaks and labor doesn’t start. My water broke and they ended up inducing labor after 12 hours because after that the risk of infection is very high.

That happened to me. I went to the hospital. They couldn’t confirm or deny it being my water leaking but I just knew. The dr who saw me said he would probably be sending me home and I said noway! I had my boy about 24hours after. My whole water burst right before I started pushing. I think mine leaked a little but it was my body saying it’s go time. If you’re having discomfort I’d definitely go get checked.
