So pretty much everyone I know/am related to gave birth naturally. I’d like to, but with my first it just didn’t work out that way. There were complications and then she turned out to be 11 lbs. I feel like that helped people justify in their own minds why I chose the epidural. Now as I sit here waiting to see if this is real labor with my second, I’m annoyed. First of all, why is it people’s business how to manage your pain? Secondly, why does it matter? Everyone tells me how much better natural is, and that I should really at least try it. Today someone I hardly know messaged me to ask if I’m getting the epidural and to say that she went natural with her latest baby and it’s the only way to do it. Just leave me alone! If I choose to get the epidural it really doesn’t affect anyone else, and it doesn’t make me less of a mom! Right?? But I know that’s the first thing everyone is going to ask right after the baby “stats.” Am I wrong to be so annoyed?
