I’m 7 days late on my period which isn’t normal and I took an ovulation test because I read somewhere it can detect it and the two HCG strips where negative two days after missed period. Today’s 7 days late and two ovulation test strips where positive.

Take a pregnancy test. Opks can pick up on hcg and show as a positive opk - BUT you can also get a lh surge before your period so its not a for sure sign that you're pregnant if you're getting a positive opk. Also, if you've only tracked ovulation with opks and the app then it could be positive due to ovulation- youay not have ovulated when you thought you did. Ita possible to get a positive opk and not ovulate at that point only then to ovulate later in your cycle. 
My advice  - make sure to have sex since you have a positive opk.
Grab a pregnancy test and test with first morning pee tomorrow - if its positive, congrats! If its negative then you need to assume the opk was positive due to either ovulation or your period incoming.
If not successful this cycle try bbt charting from next cycle as this is the only thing that confirms ovulation

An LH test would not pick up on pregnancy before a pregnancy test. It’s normal to have an lh surge before your period and it’s likely your ovulation test is picking up on that.
