When can I take a test?

I had a d&c on 1/27. My husband and I had sex twice last week. My doctor said don’t get my hopes up because I may not be able to get pregnant until after my first period, but she said I MIGHT ovulate before my first period. When can I take a test? I’ve read my hormone levels might not go back to normal for a while and I might get a BFP when in fact it’s leftover hormones from my last pregnancy.

Sorry for your loss. I had MC and D&C in December. It took 25 days to ovulate and AF arrived 14 days after that. I ovulated with a small amount of HCG still present. I tracked HCG down using HPTs. Probably best to do this or blood draws so if you do get pregnant again you can be sure any positive is a new one and not residual HCG. Good luck 🌈

My D&C was for a 14 week loss. I needed a repeat d&c. It still took 4 full months to fully miscarry all products

Depends on how far along you were when you had the d&c and your hcg levels. It took me almost 9 weeks for my levels to leave my system
