Disappointed

That tip of excitement that you get when you are a couple of days late.

You feel your heart flutter and then note every single pang of a cramp or a headache could be a sign to check.

But you tell yourself, don’t get excited. Not yet. This has happened before and the result is always the same. Negative.

So just breath and wait.

Then day four comes with no hint of your period starting. So you take the test...

Heart drops and you stare at that one little line, pleading for another to form and show a yes...

One day God will bless us with a baby, but not today I guess.
