Doppler question

If we find a sound (sounds like a heart beat to me) that beats within 160-170 range, can we assume it’s the baby’s heartbeat or could it be the placenta? I guess my question is, does the placenta beat with your heart beat or with the baby’s heart beat? I’m just confused because I have heard two sounds within the 160-170 range since getting my Doppler, one sounds like a swoosh (still sounds like a heart beat though) and one sounds like a galloping horse (this one I am sure is the heart beat but I was only able to hear it once) most times I just hear the swoosh, but like I said it’s fast, soooo am I hearing the baby’s heart or my placenta?
