Can my child’s size cause him to take longer for milestones?

My son has been really big every since he was born. He is 12 weeks old and is 19 pounds and 26 inches tall. He can hold his head up super well but hasn’t started to roll over yet. And he has trouble in the jumparoo cause of the weight of his head lol. 
Was your Baby big? Did they have troubles rolling etc? I’m worried I’m not doing enough for him tummy time wise. But he does at least 20 minutes a day.

12 weeks is too early for the jumperoo. They’re not recommended until 4 months and established good head and neck control

Doesn’t sounds like a size issue, just sounds like he doesn’t have good head control and he just hasn’t been ready to roll over yet; which both are common at 12 weeks

he is precious! he may just not be ready or very interested in rolling. my daughter could roll at that age  but didn’t want to. i did read somewhere before that babies may take longer if they are chunkier to roll. if you’re concerned it doesn’t hurt to give the doctor a call or bring it up at the next visit.

Please please don’t put babies in these jumperoo type things until they can already stand up on their feet semi-unsupported - it can stress their hip joints cause hip dysplasia and lead to back/leg problems. (Developmental infant massage instructor here)
I see this so much and I can’t believe how they’re allowed to sell these products without proper usage warnings!!

I have heard many accounts of parents with babies in the larger percentile taking longer to reach physical milestones. 
Floor play and tummy time are the best ways to strengthen muscles and promote healthy development. Things like the jumparoo aren't really great ever because they align the body in unnatural positions. . Upon doing my own research, I wouldn't use them before 6 months really and for no longer than 15 minutes a day. Though lots of parents use them often and say everything is fine with their children. They don't really promote development rather just entertain so no worries that he isn't ready for that. 
He is adorable and may just take a little longer.

I have a friend whose baby had a very large head and he was delayed in all the movement milestones including walking because it took him longer to build muscle strength and get then later get the hang of balance.
Just keep on doing what you can and don’t worry about hitting official milestones or keeping up with other kids. When he’s ready he’ll do it. Do keep speaking with your doctor about it at each checkup, they’ll let you know if you reach a point where they are concerned and may recommend physical therapy if you get too far past “normal” milestone expectations.
