Overly sexual ???

Question

Does it bother anyone that most things that’re geared towards men have half naked over sexualized women in them? 
Like anime, most games, all the women have huge boobs and barley anything on. 
Maybe I’m thinking about it too much but it bothers me a bit. Why are women made into this male gaze fantasy in literally all parts of life ?

Because women have never evolved beyond being an object to men. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ some women enjoy this type of exposure and that’s basically it. 
From selling beer to promoting a healthy fit lifestyle sex draws people in. And it’s mostly geared for men. That’s not to say that the same isn’t done for men because look at Fabio selling fucking butter 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️.

Yes, as a sexual assault survivor it makes me really really uncomfortable and thinking about it makes me feel a little sick. I hate it. And of course when women say anything about it men like to say “you’re being sensitive” or “you’re doing it to yourself by dressing this way or by doing that.” No. It doesn’t matter how we dress or what we do, we NEVER gave you permission to sexualize us.

Because sex sells. It’s a marketing and business tactic that works (proof is in the pudding lol). Idk it don’t really bother me but I get how it’s weird. Many things for women are advertised in a similar way though

Yes and no. 
I don’t like the type of of highly sexual advertising and media that is exploitative in nature. It’s created and marketed by men for the male gaze. 
However, I think we have to be careful not to slip into criticizing women that choose to market their sexuality. It moves into shaming very quickly. 
There’s nothing inherently wrong with seeing sexuality on display. It’s only a problem if it’s not done with the full consent of everyone involved.

Advertisements and things geared towards women also have a lot of sexualized men. Most anime and games have tall, lean men with muscles & ripped abs. As far as advertisements, no one is being forced to show off their bodies. I'm not really bothered by it. If I don't like the way I look, I try to change it. Or just get depressed, eat junk food,  & then try to change it lol.

It bothered me when I was younger. I dont even notice it anymore. I guess because advertising is so targeted these days, I don't even see ads like this anymore. I only use streaming services for TV so no ads there, and my Facebook, IG, and YouTube ads are very targeted towards a 30something woman who enjoys comfy clothing and doing yoga, lol. 
I'm also much more selective with the men I let into my life now - and my issue was never with the ads themselves but seeing the men around me feed into it. I dont hang out with misogynists anymore

Because patriarchy and capitalism 🤗 men always treated women as a commodity due to their having created a society where they had all the power and women were objects to be bought, sold, taken, used and/or abused. Then came capitalism and advertising, people realised they could convince people to buy things they don’t actually need by appealing to their desires. Therefore the sexual characteristics of femininity are used to sell pretty much everything.
