Rhogan Shot?

Hello, I recently and I guess currently I’m going through a miscarriage. My blood type is RH Negative and the doctor said I need to get a Rhogan shot to protect my next pregnancy. I am 27 years old and have literally never heard of it.
Other than what I am reading on Google.￼￼￼
Anything I should know?￼

You would get it at 28 weeks pregnancy if you need it, then again at birth. However if the baby's blood is RH - then you do not need the second shot. It's only if the baby's blood is RH +

I’m sorry you’re going through miscarriages. Negative blood type attacks any blood type in the womb that is not the same as ours. The shot somehow prevents that. Before the shot, women would have miscarriage after miscarriage when they had negative blood types and they weren’t sure why. Now they know and have developed this shot from a man who was found to have special antibodies or something. Pretty amazing. I got one both pregnancies cause of my blood type. The shot goes into your butt cheek and it will feel a little sore at injection site. I had no other reaction. Good luck and hope this helps!

If you are Rh negative, you usually get a rhogam shot that will prevent any of the fetus blood coming in contact with your blood. I believe if you are Rh negative, other blood types can cause your body to attack them. Something along those lines.
