Washing baby clothes before use ?

Hey how many of you wash your baby’s clothes before first use  ? How important is that ? & is it truly necessary?

It’s pretty important. They spray clothes with all kinds of chemicals in the store

I always wash new clothes before using for everyone in the family. Get off all the chemicals that it could have been sprayed with like formaldehyde. It also could have been dropped on the floor etc.

I always wash new clothes not just for baby. You never know where they were or who touched them 🤐

If they're new, I wash them because if all the chemicals and all the dirty hands and places it might have touched before getting to my home. If they're used, it depends who I got them from. If I don't know the people I wash it too. If I do know them and I know what detergent they use, I don't wash it. One of my daughters has excema and contact dermatitis, so there are only specific detergents that work for her. 
I wash all new clothes first. Not just babies but also mine, hubby's and those of our older kids.

I have some new and some second hand clothes for my baby and all are being washed now (I’m 36 weeks). 
Obv not baby related but I had an incident on holiday a few years back where I wore a new top that I hadn’t washed and it stained my skin as the dye ran. I always wash clothes before wear now for me and will apply the same for baby. Plus with second hand clothes I don’t know how long it’s been since they were washed, what washing powder was used, etc.

I didn't do it with my first and his skin was fine. I'm not sure if I will do it this time around either. But I'm the only person I know that didn't do it haha, all my family and friends all washed theirs before hand.
