Can someone tell me their experience or family experience with bypass surgey?

My dad had 99% blockage in his heart artery (idk the terms) and had a heart attack.  He is in immediate bypass surgery.
What does this mean?  Anyone have family members who had this?  Is it bad?  I’m so worried.  He’s in his 70s.

My mom had a heart attack and doctors didn't even know. All her tests came back fine despite her not feeling well
After an angiogram they determined she had a heart attack and her arteries are blocked. She had quadruple bypass surgery and the area where she had the heart attack was the widows peak or something. I guess that's a really bad area to have things go wrong. Surgery took longer than expected but it turned out great with a 99% success rate. Like I said she's sickly and has gotten more sickly since then (nothing with her heart but everything else) so I too was worried about surgery but she did great. Surgery was a success and aside from some residual pain that has required some hospital visits over the years nothing serious has been wrong with her. Good luck, prayers and well wishes to your dad! Try and keep busy so your mind is taken off it

My dad had a massive heart attack 10 years ago and had a double bypass 
10years later he’s doing just fine!
