Weight gain?

I only gained about 20lbs when I was pregnant with my son in 2018, and this pregnancy I’m only 6 months and have already gained 31lbs. Has anyone else gotten excessive weight gain this fast? I’m so upset.

I was also gonna say many women gain a lot in the first two and then nothing in the third, so you may basically be done gaining weight. 
Others don’t gain much in the first or second but then pack it on in the third. Everyone is different! So don’t sweat it too much mama! Breastfeeding sheds all that extra weight anyway! And this is just a temporary time of being extra fluffy lol

my obstetrician said the recommendation is 20 lbs and explained the breakdown for me since more weight can cause pregnancy complications and by more weight she meant like 60-70 pounds. she said if you go over 20 it should be ok as long as there’s no issues like gestational diabetes and the baby is healthy. for some women the 20 lbs is not realistic because some gain too much or others don’t gain enough. personally i’ve been struggling to gain weight as i am almost 23 weeks with only 3 pounds gained. i wouldn’t worry about weight unless they bring it to my attention to be honest.

I gained around 40 with my first, then around 65 with my second 🥴 we’ll see where I’m sitting by the end of this one.

Ugh every pregnancy is different. I gained 34 with my son and I was looking back on the charts and comparing and I gained 11 lbs in just 5 weeks at my last appointment (20 weeks) lol but I didn’t gain but like 3 lbs in the first trimester. It definitely caught me off guard such a drastic leap of weight gain in only 5 weeks 😳 
Just try to continue eating Whole Healthy foods and try to get some walking in or some type of mild exercise. This is at least what I’m doing 🤷🏼‍♀️ I feel that way even if I gain a lot of weight I can say well I tried lol

Don’t stress, momma. You did not gain 31 pounds of “fat” if that’s your concern.  There’s soooo much that goes into the weight we gain (fluid, blood, breastmilk, etc) just make sure you’re eating well rounded meals and everything should be fine ❤️

I gained 75 pounds with my first and at 6 months right now I’ve only gained 19 which I’m not to happy about or just wasn’t expecting.

I gained 11 with my first and 15-20 with my other 2. This is my 4th and at my 23 week check up I had already gained 20lbs, so yes I understand completely. I normally weigh 110-115lbs and I’m at 132 which is what I weighed when I delivered my son...

Pregnant with my fourth.. im currently 22w 4d.. so far I've gained 7lbs but feel HUGE
