Visitors after baby is born?

Question

Wondering how everyone is setting rules for friends and family to meet the little one, especially in regard to COVID. My family is in FL and we are in NY — two states that could not have handled things more differently. My OB and midwife agree that anyone that wants to hold the baby should quarantine for two weeks. I am anxious about telling family this, especially because this is my in-laws’ first grandchild. What are you doing?

We had COVID so I will pass the antibodies on to baby, thank goodness but regardless with my other 2, no kissing was allowed and wash and sanitize before touching. Staying at home for a while.

My mom will be quarantining 2 weeks before she flies out and test once she gets here... 
but quarantine isn’t an option for my MIL (given her work and also living with several other family members / another newborn grand baby , etc) so we don’t yet know how to address it with her . 
And unfortunately, I don’t trust my step mom to follow quarantine instructions.... she’s a bit ... flighty?  and would probably make a lot of justifications to break quarantine :-/

Literally *praying* my family is vaccinated by then. My parents are getting their second dose but my in laws don't qualify yet. My sister and brother in law are vaccinated, so I just need my other brother in law, my sister, and my husband to be vaccinated. Honestly it will probably just be vaccinated family for a while.

I’m not letting anyone around my baby for at least a month or two. I’m letting my mother be around her because I’m at her house almost everyday while my fiancé works but his mother works someone Covid is bad & my daughters safety is most important.

Personally I would have them quarantine as well. Im sure they will understand for the baby’s sake. All my family that will be visiting are in NY with us. But I am still going to make sure everyone wears a mask and washes their hands & SANITIZES as well before holding him. And thats only for a specific few.. lol this covid stuff is scary

Im waiting until 4 months or so after I give birth to let put of towers near by baby. We live on the neigh orange property to my in laws so they will see baby often. 
From a personal perspective, I cant control illness and im more concerned about myself than for my children. My immune system sucks.

My parents are part of my “pod” and will help care for my 2 toddlers so they will be the only visitors - they’ve been vaccinated and are careful.

Understand (and care) it’s only with abundance of caution for my newborn. I really feel for first time mothers (and obviously all mothers, but esp first time ones) who are missing out on the opportunity of a village. If weather is warm enough might do a drive by thing but that’s likely not going to happen bc i find it a little Awkward

My parents got their second vaccine dose last week and they will be watching our 3yo while I’m giving birth, then they’ll drive him back about a week later and stay with us overnight so they’ll be the first and only visitors for a while. Even though they have the vaccine, they still plan to social distance/wear masks when in public to prevent possibly spreading the virus to us unknowingly. My mom said they’ll also quarantine for 2 weeks before my scheduled c-section, just in case, especially with all of the new variants. 
My in laws have their first dose and will be getting their second dose in about a week, so we plan to visit them this summer. They live 7 hours away so I want to be completely healed from my c-section before driving to visit them. 
Basically, anyone without the vaccine is prohibited from seeing the new baby. Hopefully by late summer my sister and my best friend will finally be able to see the baby. It sucks, but I feel blessed that the vaccine is finally being distributed and there is hope on the horizon.🙏

This is a tough one.  Luckily for us both sets of our parents are over 65 and will have both vaccines before baby is born.  That only leaves my sister and her husband  (who has been vaccinated), my 2 nieces and my husbands brother.
For those not vaccinated we’re going to require masks if visiting and lots of sanitizing.  They’ve all been in our Covid bubble except my husbands brother but he lives 3 hours away and I don’t see him coming to visit anyways.  So I hope we don’t have any concerns.  I couldn’t imagine how to handle if your parents aren’t local.  Good luck!!
