Haakaa draining supply?

My LO is 3 weeks old now and I’ve started using the haakaa so my husband can feed a bottle in the evening so I can sleep more. I’m starting to find that the little one is still hungry after a feed, so I end up using what’s in my haakaa in a bottle right away (I usually get about 3 ounces). Is it possible that the haakaa is draining me too much? Has anyone else had this issue?

Shes still hungry because she’s growing and her requirements are increasing. If ur husband gives her a bottle you would need to pump to make up for the missed feeding, or ur supply will dwindle. Any time she gets a bottle, u need to pump to replace it. That’s why it’s much easier to just nurse the baby because it ends up being extra work on you when she gets a bottle. 
At 3 weeks old, she could be wanting to cluster feed-which is a good thing if u follow her lead and nurse as frequently as she demands. It is the best way to boost ur supply. The haaka just catches ur letdown, it shouldn’t be used as a pump. Hang in there, nurse on demand and just let the baby regulate your supply for you.

She needs to drain your boob to get the fatty milk that will fill her up. That is probably why what you get in your hakkaa is filling her up. 
 This is a great diagram to show the stages of breast milk in a feed. 
First is the watery bit that quenches their thirst, then mixed with more fatty milk and lastly the fatty milk which fills them up.

I used the haakaa and just found it way too annoying and awkward.
I ended up pumping once a day, either night time or morning time.
I would pump on the other side whilst feeding my baby, so then I had milk for my husband to give her in the night so I could get some sleep! Worked really well for us. 
Then I stopped pumping after a 3 months because she started just needing one night feeding and I didn’t mind doing that myself. 
I now have a freezer draw full of milk to get through at some point!  
Then I guess if you’re not using the Hakka every time you can offer the other boob to little one.
