When are you starting solids?

Bubs is coming up 3 months this Friday 😭 when is everything thinking of starting solids? I can’t remember with my last as it was over 4 years ago now if I started at 3 or 4 months. I know they need to be able to hold there head up and sit unassisted. My bubs can hold her head up great and has so issues and when sitting in a high chair she’s quiet comfortable.
She’s still so small and want to chunk her up soon hahaha!

BLW (baby led weaning) at 6 months. We did the same with our son! Skips the baby food all together and he’s fed himself from the beginning!

My pediatrician said today once they get to be 16 pounds you can start introducing solids!

I started my first on oat cereal and a few purées at 4 months. Doctor said it was fine if she seemed ready and she was. I’ll probably do the same with this baby if he’s ready.

I think rice/oatmeal is suggested to start introducing around 4 months, then other baby foods is suggested to start at 6 months. But if your baby is showing signs that they're ready at 5 months then my dr has always said to go for it! (obviously talk to your dr first though!) & I also believe you're supposed to try say apples, then give it like 2-3 days before trying say bananas to watch for allergies 🙂

Idk probably not for quite a while. We did purées and cereals at 4 months with my son and it wasn’t a good experience for any of us so we just stopped until 6-7 months and then did BLW and even that was stressful for us so for baby girl I’m honestly planning on not doing solids like at all hahah. They’re just learning foods before one, everything baby needs to get is in breastmilk or formula so I’m gonna focus on that. Maybe if she starts showing interest I’ll give her a few foods after 7 months but otherwise I just don’t see the reason to give her more and overwhelm her and me and everyone else at home because mom and baby are overwhelmed.

With my second and now third we did/will do baby led weaning and start at 6 months. My first started oatmeal at 4 months and other food (purées) shortly after

Think that’s the best bet to speak to my doctor at her 4 month check up :) hopefully he gives me more info with it haha
