Experiance with cervadil??

Question

Im being induced next week at 38 weeks, i am not dilated at all so i have to go in to start cervadil the night before. 
I was induced with my son 2 years ago and was dilated a little with him so i didnt need to get the cervadil with him, they just started me on pitocin. 
What is everyone's experiance with the cervadil if youve needed it when being induced?

I was induced with my first with cervadil. I was not dilated at all when I went in.  I didn’t have any issues, we started in the morning, my water was broke in the afternoon, and he was born that night. I actually slept almost all day.  We are going to do the same thing at 39 weeks, assuming this one doesn’t come on his own before that.

I had a very bad experience with cervadil, similar to another poster and I'd rather be honest and share my experience because it is NOT uncommon with cervadil even though no one warns you. I wouldn't normally share something that could scare a new mom but it was very bad. The contractions were so intense, long and so close together that my daughters heart was stopping, and my blood pressure dropped insanely low. Neither of us were doing well at all. I was on oxygen for a few hours while they waited for it to wear off. They told me if I wanted to see my daughter born I needed to get the epidural, because it was looking like an emergency c section meaning they would knock me out completely. I got the epidural and convinced them to let me try pitocin once the cervadil was gone. Epidural and pitocin was wonderful. I got them at the same time, took a 3 hour nap, woke up at 9cm. 15 minutes later I was pushing, pushed for about an hour.

I had a great experience with it!!! 
Was 9 days late. They induced me on a Tuesday night at 7pm. Gave me cervidil. 
Slept on and off all night with it in. They were going to come in at 7am to remove it and it fell out on its own at 5am. They came and checked me I was 2cm dilated. Broke my water and started pitocin. Got an epidural at 1pm had baby girl at 6:03! It was pretty easy with the epidural. 
Pitocin is way worse than cervidil in my opinion.

Cervidal was fine for me. It was the foley balloon that was miserable!! Cervidal is to ripen your cervix and since I wasn’t dilating they used the foley balloon to force me to 3 cm. It took about 40 mins but I threw up twice from it. Pitocin was ok and then once I got the epidural I was fantastic lol. Honestly, prior to the epidural I felt like crap and was so tired but the epidural gave me new energy. All in all my induction took 44 hrs by the time our daughter was born. My only word of warning is for the iv pain meds they offer. I said no to it but a friend of mine got it then still wanted the epidural but since the iv pain meds were still in her system she couldn’t sign the consent for the epidural. So just a heads up.

I was 3cm dilated with my first, got cervidil (at 7pm) and went into active labor 5 hours later (12am) and had my son at 4:15am
I was 0cm dilated with my second, got cervidil (at 11am) and went into active labor 1 hour labor (at 12pm) and had my son an hour after that at 12:54pm
So cervidil for me works wonders and almost instantly put me into labor

I’m just going to give my honest 100% opinion. I was induced and wasn’t dilated at all and was given cervadil, it immediately put me in active labor and I was having intense contractions every minute. I ended up on oxygen because my baby couldn’t take the strong contractions that long. I was in labor for 26 hours. It was such a traumatic experience for me. I wouldn’t ever recommended it to anyone. That’s just my personal experience.

I was induced with just cervadil at 39w6d (I went in the morning prior to 40 weeks) 
5am- checked in @2cm dilated 
10am- started walking around then slept 
I basically was walking and squatting and on the yoga ball trying to naturally dilate
By 11am- started cervadil 
I had the cervadil until around 10pm it fell out when I was using the bathroom and they left it out. 
It was a slow process to 6cm but I made it 6cm and I was on the yoga ball and basically I was resting then walking around resting then walking around until I couldn’t care the pain. 
I probably hit 6cm around like 6am or something. 
Anywho, 
Around 8am, I asked for pain meds and they gave me fentanyl, as I didn’t want an epidural. 
It didn’t do much 
I hit a 9cm around 9am, that’s when I started crying and contractions were non stop no breaks, I started pushing around 9:45 and had my son at 10:11am ❤️

I got the balloon with cervadil it was very painful ful - I recommend getting the epidural right away. My water had already broken and I was already having contractions before they administered it . 
I never dialated past a 5 unfortunately.
