Does everyone get a stress test? If so, when?

I had two towards the end of my pregnancy with my son. I couldn’t pass the 2nd one, so I was sent to the hospital. Contractions started shortly after that.

I got one because I was over 40 weeks so they wanted to check if she was stressed out or if they could wait a couple days for labor to start naturally.. it never did. But she was fine the whole time. So they induced me at 41+2 days

Only if your OB or midwife says you need one or if you call the hospital (maternity unit) or show up with some kind of symptoms that alert you. I had to go for three, because baby girl had accelerated heart rate (she was perfectly fine). They aren't part of routine prenatal care.
