Anxiety

I get really bad anxiety at school and last week I had a ton of anxiety attacks during my classes because it’s a new year and teachers keep asking me questions. My hands continue to shake, my heart beats way too fast, can’t breathe properly and tear up just thinking about being singled out or called upon. I take no medication and all I can do is take deep breaths and laugh at myself (don’t work that well) sometimes I think the teachers just think I’m shy. Do you think it would be better if I emailed the teacher about my anxiety??

I’ve the same thing too, I’ve never emailed my teachers before tho. Usually my teachers over time just tell that I don’t like being called on. But I would definitely email your teachers if you feel comfortable with it!

I had really bad anxiety in 7th grade and I missed almost the whole year, but it might help to see a school counsellor. Also, my teachers told me that whenever I needed a break, I could just ask them and they’d let me go for a walk or go sit in the office for awhile.
